I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Barry while I was just a little kid, barely knowing what he was singing about, yet I was drawn to style of music. I've always been a bit of a wierdo when it came to music, listening to things someone my age had no business listening to, but its a trait that has stuck with me since. Im in my twenties so its not uncommon for most people in my age bracket not to really know much on Barry, but with the older crowds you bring his name up and a twinkle glistens in their eyes lol.
Great music is something of a rarity these days and the fact that an icon like this is still around not only performing, but performing very well is amazing. This guy was making hits in the 70's anf isnt showing any signs of slowing down. How many of these old hags left can actually perform let alone perform well? Have you seen the Rolling Stones, The Who, I mean anyone of these classic artists? Mummies dancing around in leather and glitter barely singing anything much less your favorite classic.
Old hits, new hits, no matter what this guy threw out at us last night was done in a way that blew my mind away. I expected to see a botex infused dust devil crackling and mumbling his way through his catalog but instead viewed a botox insfused master of ceremony rock a packed house.
I've added this small clip of the concert just to show a glimpse of this icon still rock a crowd and while most of you might not know who this guy is, do yourself a favor....look him up..your ears and soul will thank you!
Thanks Barry you rock and roll motherfucker!
